beim Sport ist man sehr oft hinterher/im Nachhinein/im Rückblick schlauer bei der Analyse = it’s always easier to analyze/to examine a situation with the benefit of hindsight; one can always second-guess a game after it was played; it's a no-brainer/a pushover/a slam dunk for a sports correspondent to demonstrate how the game could/should have been played/won

die Fronten sind verhärtet = no solution seems to be in the offing for the standoff between management and union bosses; bad blood flows/recrimination flies over this sticky/delicate subject
