Pitch in! Do take ownership as well as assume personal responsibility for various tasks or projects … this means that you sometimes have to show initiative without being asked and that you assume accountability for the outcome as well
manche Mitarbeiter versuchen, sich der Verantwortung zu entziehen = some incompetent employees try to escape/shirk/duck/evade accountability/responsibility; shunning away from/dodging responsibility is a negative character trait that should not be overlooked
er/sie ist ein Weichei; er/sie ist umgefallen (bezeichnet eine Person - auch seine/ihre Tat -, die sich vor der Übernahme von Verantwortung drückt/scheut) = he/she is a copout, he/she copped out (said of a person - may also denote his/her action - who evades/is afraid of assuming responsibility); some people always try to take the easy way out/to wriggle out of a sticky situation; placing blame on something else to make things easier for yourself is a typical cop out; that was a cop-out for sure
