bei manchen Unternehmen können Abiturienten/Uni-Studenten/Studenten mit Abschluss in viele Abteilungen reinschnuppern = some corporations give students, who have just graduated from High School/college/university the opportunity to dabble in many departments from management to operations; many universities nowadays combine academic studies with workplace experience; she/he dabbled in human resources management/in the finance department; shadowing (i.e. following) an experienced individual in order to understand her/his daily tasks and job routines was a great learning experience for the young student; the student was given the chance of dipping his toes into the office activities for a week; this is a wonderful occasion for young folks to get the feel of a new activity/job/profession; the farmer’s son/daughter was given a tutorial on wine production/a tour of the facilities; for young folks this is a great opportunity to soak up/absorb knowledge of many professions; the young girl was given the chance to get an idea of/get the feel of/get an insight into the departments’s atmosphere

vor der Uni hat sie ein Praktikum bei einem Großkonzern gemacht = before attending college she served a two-year internship/ cadetship/apprenticeship in a large corporation
für Lehrlinge/Praktikanten gibt es zuerst ein Einführungstraining, bevor sie eingesetzt werden = intern/trainee/apprentice/understudy undergoes induction training prior to being assigned real tasks/needs to be onboarded with his/her new job
da der/die Azubi ständig verspätet zur Arbeit kommt, müsste man ihn/sie zur Rede stellen
= the intern keeps coming in late, so he/she should be called out on it
Nachfolger läuft mit bzw. wird eingewiesen = the new manager is to shadow/tag along with the departing executive for the next 3 months; the newly-appointed supervisor shadows the old one to get some tutelage in the role; extra coaching will eventually be necessary to bring the new manager up to speed
sein Nachfolger hat sich bestens eingefügt= his replacement fitted in perfectly
