der Zug/Bus ist (ca.)10 Minuten verspätet = the train/bus is running 10 minutes late; the train is tipped/likely to arrive within the next 10 minutes or so; expect the bus to be delayed by ten minutes     

ich bin spät dran, ich beeile mich = I’m running late, so right now I’m in hurry-up mode   

wir müssen rennen was das Zeug hält/um die Wette, wenn wir den Bus kriegen wollen = we need to hurry now/run hell-for-leather if we want to catch the bus
